Open Play FAQs

  • The Grove is designed to be a welcoming, inclusive, and thoughtfully designed play environment for children of all ages and abilities. Our space offers a variety of play experiences that allow children to participate at their own comfort level within a shared recreational setting, including two-tier play structures, slides, a foam pit, crawling mats, swings, imaginative play areas, and more.

To support safety for all guests, The Grove operates as a group play environment where parents or caregivers remain responsible for supervising their children and supporting safe participation. Staff are present to help facilitate a positive experience, and activities may be adjusted as needed to support the well-being of everyone in the space.

Active play involves inherent risks. While no environment can be completely risk-free, The Grove performs regular equipment inspections and maintains a clean and sanitized play environment to promote the safety and well-being of all guests.

The Grove reserves the right to modify participation, redirect activities, or deny services when necessary to maintain a safe and positive environment for guests and staff.

  • No, reservations are not required for open play. Drop-ins are welcome!

  • During Open Play, parents or caregivers are required to remain onsite and are responsible for supervising their children while they explore and enjoy the space.

For families who need additional flexibility, we offer optional drop-off services during select Open Play hours for an additional fee. Drop-off services operate as limited-duration group supervision within our shared recreational play environment. The Grove is not a licensed daycare facility, and services do not include individualized supervision, behavioral support, or therapeutic care.

Children participating in drop-off services engage alongside peers in a structured group setting consistent with our staffing model and should be comfortable participating without one-on-one support. Participation may be limited or paused if safety expectations cannot be maintained within the group environment.

Drop-off services may be used once per week per child for up to four hours.

  • To ensure the best experience for everyone, we kindly ask that families do not enter the gym within 30 minutes of closing. Arriving too close to closing time can feel rushed, and we want children and families to enjoy their time without the stress of quick transitions or difficult goodbyes. This policy also allows our staff the necessary time to thoroughly clean and prepare the facility for the next day. For this reason, you may occasionally notice our doors locked during the last 30 minutes before closing.
